Action research Journey
Action Research is a process in which participants examine their own educational practice systematically and carefully, using the techniques of research (Watts, 1985 p. 118)
According to Mill (2000) action research is is a systematic inquiry done by teachers (or other individuals in an educational setting) to gather information about, and subsequently improve the ways their particular educational setting operates, how they teach and how well their students learn.

This Academic Year 2020 _2021, in the new normal setup, I decided to join a training on how to conduct action research. Our school, DLSZ offers the STAR program to all teachers and it could accommodate only up to 30 participants, luckily I was able to join the 7 Saturday training. We were taught the basic concepts of Action Research, the cycles, how should it be done and other important matters related to action research. We were so lucky to have our great mentors, Dr. Aguja and Dr. Prudente.

The title of my action research was "Integrating Mathematical Modelling in Seesaw to Enhance Students' Engagement and Problem Solving Performance." This action research aims to enhance students’ problem-solving performance and engagement in Math activities in an ODL set up through the Seesaw learning playlist. I want to know whether the Singaporean strategies have an impact on the performance of my students as well as their engagement in Math.

Hence I came up with this Improvement Theory:
"If I will create engaging playlists and provide varied strategies on problem-solving and give feedback to their performance then students will gain a better problem-solving performance and engagement in Math."

Community involvement
I was invited as one of the resource speakers conducted by the CHARM, BAGCED at De La Salle University to share my action research with the public and private teachers. This is a virtual webinar series that aims to promote Action Research in the Philippines educational setting. The experience was very fulfilling. At first, I was a bit nervous, but thank you I was able to deliver and inspire them to make their own AR.

International Paper presentation
The moment has arrived, it's time for me to present my action research at a virtual international conference (Tokyo Japan). This is another way for me to be able to publish my paper so I joined iC4E2021, which is funded by DLSZ. We were given 15 minutes to present our paper and they are very strict with the time. I prepared a simple presentation and I intended to have it done for 10 minutes only because the last 5 minutes is for the question and answer portion. We were all aware that after the presentation, the committee head or the chair will choose the 3 best presenters. I am happy to share that I was chosen as one of the best presenters. Thank you, Lord, for this gift.

Then I was also informed that my paper is already approved for publication.
